U know the most interesting thing happened to me on air today.Even though we play only hindi songs a lot of people who speak kannada love to listen to it coz along with kannada music they need their daily dose of bollywood too.Our main aim was to capture those people who love kannada language and love hindi music [example ME :-)].BUt today when i was going through messages that i recieved one msg read
FATAFAT WHY DONT YOU'LL TALK IN ENGLISH OR HINDI? ALWAYS KANADA?ITS A BOLLYWOOD STATION,FOR GOD'S SAKE
Thats right our kannada people want us to talk in english or hindi it was very surprising.I know the number and the person very well coz i have put him on air before and he speaks kannada very well but then never have i faced anything like this.Every single day we get mails saying that kannada is dying and no one is talking it and no one wants to speak this beautiful language coz according to them its not their status.I love my language and i know i will always have high respect for it.Its very surprsing to see that college going kids now dont want to speak our language nor do they want to listen to it.Dont know wat bangalore will become by the time i have children.

Language is just a medium of speech. Why do you want to differentiate?
Some language can be classic if its an old language.. thats it! You dont have to think if its a part of your status symbol !
people need to rest for a while and think about it, at least casually!
thats right abhi.There are a lot of people who are in and around me who thought till recently that kannada is not the corporate language and its not their status and all.Hope the grand launch of radio helped all to start talking our language

Maybe we all speak kannada and english atleast people have stareted talking kannada and so many people who could not understand a word of kannada have started learning kannada through radio kano.It may not be the perfect language but then atleast we are all making a effort alwa.And dont worry no matter wat u say everything will be published

Well, even I Love to listen to Kannada words by Bollywood Radio staion :D now its happening in all the shows, earlier I was waiting to hear, whether your RJ's really know Kannada or they hesitate to speak in Kannada, now you all of them speak in Nice Accent... Its Great to see that you are promoting Kannada Language in your Station too... ;-) Rock On !!!
Surprised to know tht, we need to see in our neighbouring states. how much imp they give to mother tongues, in countries like china n japan even Microsoft windows is in their native languages.. our youngsters want to identify themselves with west... not good

A lot of outstation people make an effort to learn atleast some words gotta and they get to know the easy ones from radio also and im very happy to listen to them especially when they on air and they try to talk to me in kannada only coz i speak to them in kannada.

We have all come from almost a similar background kano.When we started off it was a little difficult for all of us to talk in kannada coz we wanted to be perfect and now we are comfortable and we will always support the language
I was not speaking about Radio One.. Other Radio Channels who broadcast kannada music, no doubt have kannadigas as their listeners and as RJs speak such a kannada mixed badly with english words, that has become the style of kannada speaking youth now!

I think most of kannadigas want to listen hindi songs rather than kannada songs,it doesn't mean they are against kanada languages coz music is to relax our mind
so there is no harm in listening to music of any languages.. even as of kannadiga I too love listening to hindi songs..wen comes to our language I agree that Kannada language in it's own state is not recognized today.. its only bcoz of broad mentality of kannadigas who think tht talking in kannada is a shame..If those people who wont change thier mentality even i dont know wot bangalore ll become by the time pallavi have children...lol
yes pallavi sometimes even we listen tht some people from other state learn few kannada words and try speaking it ..

Hi Pallavi,,, what i thought was,, there shouldn't be any prob using Kannada in Radio Stations... We listen to Radio One,, that doesnt mean, we hate Kannada Songs,, antha, Kannada songs are also excellent,, hindi too,, but change in lang thats it,, music is music,, tell that user,, to visit Germany,, alli they play english songs,, but RJ's talk in German,, & GERMAN is mandatory!!!
